Building Great Habbits

Some years ago I started feeling slightly sluggish ๐Ÿ˜Ÿ, was out of breath after just a short walk yet on the outside I looked very normal. But I felt something was off, so I decided to do something about it. I started by working out to only 30-minute dance videos just two days a week. It was fun, I looked forward to it and i love dancing so I had a great time.

Today, 5 years later I maintain the same physical out look, I work out 3 times a week and I still enjoy it, 90% of the time๐Ÿ˜‰. Often I am asked by my colleagues, “how do you stay consistent day after day, how do you maintain your body” and “ I also want to exercise but its soo hard”. I tell them constantly to find an exercise that makes them happy๐Ÿ˜Š while doing it and they will start liking to exercise as much as I do. Most times people workout as if they are taking sour medicine and this just makes the process harder and more painful.

As I read “Atomic Habits: Master the Art of Lasting Change” , I realised what I was doing without even realising it. I wanted to start a habit of exercising and I associated it with fun through dance which made me look forward to my workout sessions instead of dreading them. It is a neat trick and it works every time๐Ÿ‘Œ.
