Prioritise yourself

  This week I pondered about prioritizing myself visa a vie other relationships, it can be over whelming 😟to be everything for every on all the time. Now leave alone the obligations you are born with as a daughter, sister and maybe an auntie to my nieces and nephews. Now let’s concentrate on the social relationships we are choosing to be part of currently. I have friends that will be there through thick and thin, through good and bad and these I offer the highest level of priority in terms of time, energy and focus. I also have seasonal friends, they are there when all is good and seem to disappear when you need them and when they need you, they will stop at nothing to get it from you. To these friends I approach with caution and give them less of my time and energy. I also have friends that have made changes in their lives and now they have other priorities instead of me and that is fine. But I have to create healthy boundaries for these friends because if not watched they will...

Roller coaster of emotions

  It normally turns on and off in different circumstances. One minute I am happy, next I am frustrated then I am anxious and finally I feel calm. After a very long time on this roller coaster of emotions I realized it doesn’t have to be like this, my emotions don’t have to dictate how my day goes. Through small intentional steps in listening before I talk, paying attention to my triggers and taking a moment to respond especially in a heated situation and reading very widely has helped me ride my emotions and enjoy the ride I have. I am definately on the journey to getting better day by day.

Evolution

  So last week was quite interesting, impromptu meetings, busy work schedules and a lot and i mean alot of flexibility. Between being given an assignment, being told the assignment was changed last minute, preparing to appraise the meeting on the same updates only for the role to be taken away on the final second. I watched a room full of executives call an intern to switch on a smart TV and i realized we really need to get updated on new technology but whose responsibility is it , the IT department or the beneficiaries. This was hurting to watch. The poor gentleman had to sit through the meeting just waiting to increase the resolution on the screen and hide excel columns and the executives were on a busy schedule but had to wait and postpone other duties to wait for this help. I had a great time going for my work out sessions. I am glad the rainy season is here. The air seems more fresh , the grass is greener and the flowers at a point just seem to be showing off how...
